This session will explore practical, research-based strategies to support discourse in developing both mathematical understanding and academic language. Participants will examine what meaningful math talk looks like across K–12 settings and learn practical strategies to create inclusive environments where all students feel empowered to share, refine, and challenge ideas. Educators will strengthen their ability to facilitate discussion, ask purposeful questions, and shift toward student-centered sense-making so that every learner has access to rigorous and engaging mathematics.
